Thank you for visiting the Recognise Project. The following choices are available to children and young people in the Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire & border areas:
Confidential, regular, relational counselling for those who may benefit from exploring personal situations, by talking them through. A Counsellor is somebody who is completely separate from other relationships in life. They will encourage and support you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Confidential meetings, focussing on specific areas which may need further encouragement or support. These sessions can take place within the counselling room, or outside in the community (coffee shops, schools, youth centres etc.).
Small groups of a similar age meeting together to explore a common issue. Learning about ourselves and one another, through sharing experiences, and developing supportive peer relationships.
One to one work, or small groups focussing on the specific skills required when moving into adulthood and independence. Developing familiarity and confidence with what will eventually become everyday tasks and routines.
Focussed work with a view to supporting the expression of wishes and needs within specific forums such as the family, schools, local authorities etc.
Collaborative working with those supporting children and young people, to explore how further improvements might be made to enrich the lives of those they work with.
